In November of 2010, for International Project Management Day, IIL hosted a Virtual Event “The Power of the Profession.”

Of the 11 seminar sessions, my personal favorite was Leadership and the Power of Acknowledgment hosted by Judith Umlas and based on her book of the same name. Now IIL has created a full day course from that book.

I am very excited about the additional material offered – case studies, exercises and a workbook based on the book.

For the month of April, IIL is offering this 6 PDU course at a terrific price of $135 USD.

– EdmontonPM

This program is highly interactive and includes a Leadership Acknowledgment Self-Assessment Surveyâ„¢, case studies, role playing, action take-aways, the Knock Your Socks Off Exercise for Leaders, and will enable participants to create a vision statement for their organization. Participants will receive The Power of Acknowledgment by Judith W. Umlas and a workbook.

The Opening Keynote on Monday April 12 is a terrific presentation we’ve featured on pduOTD.com titled 5 Monkeys, a Banana and a Flight of Stairs by Glenn R. Brûlé (LinkedIn profile) of ESI International.

To understand the story of the 5 monkeys – Click here. When people keep doing things the same way they have always done, it is because that is the way it was done when they got there. They don’t ask why they are doing it that way they just know that’s the way its done.

3 Learning Objectives from this Session:

  • Effective analyst engagements models that drive value
  • Red flags in your review cycle: clear signals that you have, or will have, issues with your requirements discovery team.
