Part III – Variables in Workflows

A key component of SharePoint Server 2013 is Business Process Automation, taking the repetitive daily tasks business users are presented with and configuring SharePoint to handle them.

SharePoint workflows use variables to store and retrieve data from a data source during run time. A variable contains data associated with the workflow, such as Comments in a a Feedback Workflow, or Assigned To in an Approval Workflow.

These variables can be used in actions and conditions when manually starting a workflow or when creating custom workflows.

In this webinar Andy will examine:

  • Retrieve data from a data source during run time.
  • What Initiation parameters and Workflow local variables are.
  • Data types used in workflow variables.
  • How to view current workflow variables.
  • Which Workflow actions are used to return data?
  • Best practices for working with workflow variables

Join Andy in this series of lectures as he explores the process of creating custom SharePoint 2013 workflows using SharePoint Designer 2013 as we work to build custom solutions to solve real-world problems.
