Online Webinar – Recorded Mar 13th 2013
Offered by ASPE (REP 2161) 1 Category A PDU – Free PDU

Sometimes we wonder how Microsoft ever came up with SharePoint. SharePoint is the perfect enterprise integration platform and Microsoft is the perfect transactional, product-focused, marketing company. It just doesn’t fit, which is the main problem surrounding the poor adoption and use of the most powerful business application on the market, SharePoint 2010.

The reality is, for a large enterprise to gain the competitive advantage and efficiencies SharePoint can provide, it must look at HOW or better yet WHO is driving adoption.

Here is why the SharePoint BA is so critical. It isn’t about governance or basic administration. Yes, those things are important, but they are the chicken before the egg. The egg is USE!!!

We are right in the middle of the transformation of power in IT systems moving from geeks to the users, because the users are becoming geeks. SharePoint is the pinnical of user enabled IT power.

This web seminar will discuss at a high level

  • The vast potential real world applications for SharePoint.
  • ASPE will dig into the traditional role of a business analyst
  • And they will discuss what the roles and responsibilities would be for a SharePoint business analyst

The optimal goal is to provide details on how organizations can increase the use of SharePoint in the enterprise, which will save a significant amount of money and time and lead to much quicker time to market.

Live Webinar June 4th, 2015 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM EDT
Duration: 1 Hour Credits: 1 PDU Category C Free
Presented by : O’Reilly

The conversation around bioengineering alternates between visions of a truly sustainable society in the far future and unknown dystopian horrors just around the corner.

How do we transcend these stereotypes?

We make biotechnology beautiful and personal. Beauty captures the imagination in a way that practical and necessary advances can’t—we’re leading the way with color-changing flowers.

In this webcast we’ll explore beautiful biotechnology, focusing on the emerging consumer biotechnology market and the evolving conversation between nature, technology, and society.

Presenter: Keira Havens (LinkedIn profile, O’Reilly bio) BSc MS grew up in Hawaii where she was fascinated by flowers, bugs, and the ocean. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and pursued an MS degree in a synthetic biology (laboratory). As part of her academic work on detector plants she encountered an interesting paradox — the same people who disliked agricultural GMOs liked the idea of this applied biotechnology. It was biotechnology that they could see a benefit in, a biotechnology that amazed and delighted. Keira wanted to bring more wonder into the world through science, and so she founded Revolution Bioengineering with colleague Nikolai Braun (LinkedIn profile). Their goal: to make biotechnology beautiful, starting with flowers that change color throughout the day.
