Evidence is showing high rates of natural resource project failure, where stakeholders’ conflicts, regulatory and policy-related challenges, and unfavourable external environments are cited as primary causes.

These often stem from environmental performance concerns and legacy issues of past practices. And beyond that, breakdowns in communications, and an incomplete identification of relevant risks and requirements, have been recognized as root causes.

The work of each engineering discipline plays a significant role in enabling risk avoidance and improvement in design, as well as addressing external stakeholder concerns and requirements.

However, achieving success in multi-phase, extended duration projects requires distinct collaboration, coordination, and communication elements.

Key strategies and considerations to improve the alignment and collaboration of stakeholders will be discussed, that, if successfully implemented, should result in three main benefits:

  • An ease in obtaining environmental approvals,
  • A reduced risk of project cost and schedule overruns, and
  • An integrated contribution to achieving lower cost, lower risk, and minimal impact operations and closure.

We’ve all heard that setting priorities in our personal lives is key to achieving our goals.

Some of us hire personal coaches to get our lives in order, but when it comes to what we do within the office, all that planning goes out the window.

Organizations today are running at a much faster pace than ever before. We have technology glued to us at all times so that we can quickly respond to things.

But should we really?

This month Core Performance Concepts will talk about the benefits of prioritizing our days both at home and at work.

They understand that you don’t always have control over the priorities that may be set for you in the office, but will discuss some strategies and approaches to gaining clarity of purpose when your supervisor says something is urgent or if you are feeling like you have too many projects on your plate.

At the end of this session, they will ask for attendees to submit a scenario they would like to have discussed in their May 27th panel. They will share experiences and strategies for helping you get your time in control.

Benefits

  • Learn how to prioritize both at home and work

Users today want all web and mobile applications to respond as quickly as a Google search.

They also want cool new features and apps that make their lives easier.

So your teams adopt practices like agile, DevOps, continuous integration, asset reuse, and automation to deliver faster and more efficiently.

But how do you balance the velocity of development with the time-consuming performance testing tasks required to ensure your users are delighted by your app’s performance?

Voke analyst Theresa Lanowitz and Senior Performance Engineer at Netoys Brad Stoner will take a deep dive into the answer—continuous performance validation.

Continuous performance validation is the practice of using automated and collaborative tools to test and monitor application performance at every step of the application development lifecycle.

Learn How To:

  • Employ automation throughout the entire development lifecycle
  • Test for performance early and often—even in development
  • Reuse assets to balance quality with the speed of development
  • Run realistic end-to-end tests in pre-production for business critical apps
  • Monitor the same transactions in production and pre-production

Presenters:
