Competencies For PMs & BAs

Part 2: Decisions NextGen Business
Competencies For PMs & BAs

Fast moving agile businesses need engaged teams that drive out faster testable insights for extremely reduced time from concept to cash.

NextGen Project Managers and Business Analysts meet this challenge with their own NextGen business competencies – to build shared understanding of trends, customer/market forces and organizational imperatives to drive fast value decision making.

They exert new forms of leadership to help teams of all kinds (IT and beyond) to seed their backlogs with innovative pre-flight tested, market ready ideas.

This series will be a four part deep dive into a competency wheel for new project leaders called the Discovery Leadership framework.

Developed by Kupe Kupersmith CBAP®, (LinkedIn @Kupe)President B2T Training, and Curtis Michelson (LinkedIn profile) with guidance from a global community, the framework is a holistic set of competencies grouped into four chunks.

What eats strategy for lunch, or breakfast or dinner?

Of course, culture. And at every level of an organization, from the project team to the portfolio to the enterprise, culture can either support or fight NextGen thinking and acting.

This session will explore a key differentiating edge for project leaders – their ability to adapt and even transform workplace cultures, in order to “make a space’ for NextGen insight, decisions and engagement.

The session will also introduce the five creative and perhaps radical ways to bend workplace dynamics towards flatter balanced cross-functional teams, dynamic social networks and open growth oriented mindsets that pull the best work out of everyone.

Course Learning Objectives Include:

  • Five essential factors that must be in place for NextGen workplaces to thrive.
  • Two ways to get a measure or reading on your NextGen workplace culture
  • Specific language that can induce yourself and others to be NextGen ideators and deciders.

With the Course You Will Receive:

  • Access to the Live and Recorded Version of Webinar
  • Personalized Certificate of Attendance
  • Copy of Presentation Slides

Presenter: Curtis Michelson (LinkedIn profile, @SpecsRex) is a Board officer of IIBA Central IIBA Florida chapter and brings a diverse professional background to bear on his consulting practice as a solo business analyst, speaker and trainer. With over 15 years in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as well as prior work in Marketing and Communications, he brings a wide-angle view to organizational change initiatives.

Turnover Is A Complicated Problem

If you feel like turnover is a problem that’s out of your hands, think again.

You can’t control the job market, but there are plenty of things you can do to curb turnover in your organization—and it starts by understanding the “pushes” and “pulls” of your current talent management processes.

In this 1-hour webinar, Carol Jenkins  (LinkedIn profile) Chief Analytics Officer, OutMatch & Christina Sherrod (LinkedIn profile) Director of Talent Solutions, OutMatch, will help you get to the root of your turnover problem.

Carol & Christina will help you put the band-aid fixes behind you, and finally effect real change in your organization.

Learn how to measure your turnover health for a crystal-clear understanding of what you’re doing well and where you can improve.

You’ll benefit from this webinar if you have burning questions like:

  • What makes people want to stay with—or leave—my organization?
  • What’s “healthy” turnover, and are we high or low compared to others?
  • When do most people turn over, and what can we do to reverse these patterns?

Note: SHRM has pre-approved this webcast for 1 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) towards SHRM-CP℠ or SHRM-SCP℠ Certifications.
