Excel’s dashboarding capabilities empower users to transform raw data into meaningful insights.

Excel’s dashboarding capabilities empower users to transform raw data into meaningful insights.

Whether for business reporting, financial analysis, or project management, Excel dashboards provide a user-friendly and visually impactful way to analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively.

Building a dashboard requires data. That data can come from a variety of sources such as databases, CSV files and web pages. In many cases, that raw data is not “fit for purpose. It requires cleaning, merging and combining.

Does the phrase “it’s taking too long” describe how you feel about the time it takes to get your data into the right format for your reports?

Do you regularly perform repetitive time-consuming “data cleaning and transforming” tasks such as removing unnecessary rows and columns, filtering out data that you dont need, converting text to numbers or dates, splitting or merging columns, removing “weird” characters or combining files together?

Would you like to be able to do all the above with the click of a button? If the answer Is yes, you need Power Query (known as Get and Transform in Excel 2016 and later).

Dashboards:

  • Understand the key principles of effective dashboard design
  • Learn how to create interactive and visually appealing dashboards in Excel
  • Discover best practices for data visualization
  • Gain insight into how to use dashboards to drive business decisions

Excel’s dashboarding capabilities empower users to transform raw data into meaningful insights.

Suitable for business reporting, financial analysis, or project management, Excel dashboards offer a user-friendly and visually impactful means to analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively.

  2. Are you regularly tasked with repetitive and time-consuming data cleaning and transformation activities?

These might include removing unnecessary rows and columns, filtering out irrelevant data, converting text to numbers or dates, splitting or merging columns, removing unexpected characters, or combining files together.

Would you appreciate a solution that can perform all of these tasks with the click of a button? If your answer is yes, then Power Query (also known as Get and Transform in Excel 2016 and later) is what you need.

Learning Objectives:

  • Import data into Excel from sources such as text files, web pages and databases
  • Keep the imported data in sync with the source data using just two clicks
