Well-being involves having a positive self-image and esteem and a healthy lifestyle. Well-being is closely intertwined with a person’s ability to demonstrate resilience. The good news is resilience and well-being can be strengthened.

This webinar will cover the three key areas associated with individual welfare in a workplace setting: Resilience, stress management and well-being. We will explore ways to build resilience and make it easier to navigate problems and avoid the victim mentality. We will also cover some simple stress-busting techniques and learn to recognize behaviors that increase stress. Finally, we will consider the best ways to lead a healthy lifestyle.

We will also share tips on how to conduct sensitive conversations with staff who may be going through personal and professional difficulties, and how to select the best interventions to support the individual.

After this one-hour session, learners will be able to:

  • Understand how to boost resilience in challenging times
  • Apply simple techniques to manage and alleviate the symptoms of stress
  • Consider small changes in habits and lifestyle to promote health and well-being

In discussion with two experts in their fields; Michael Dunlop (LinkedIn profile) & Kim Kapur (LinkedIn profile) (healthcare delivery and major rail infrastructure) this webinar explored how to make project outcomes more effective and ‘ecological’ in the sense of not threatening other aspects of the project or organisation by setting targets that cannot be delivered without major disruption.

A model they discuss in this webinar is the well-formedness characteristics for any outcome, as proposed in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), which are that it is:

  • -Stated in the positive
  • Defined using sensory-based evidence (measurable)
  • Initiated and maintained by those who want the outcome
  • Preserving the positive by-products of the present state
  • Appropriately contextualised to surrounding ecology

The expert panel shared their experience of setting and achieving outcomes, and how to avoid pitfalls.

Project environments are complex and unique for every project. Project environment and interpersonal context drive performance as much as, if not more than, clearly defined project scope, objectives, and budget.

Project managers often have no direct authority over project team members or input into performance reviews. Toxic behavior is often subtle, inevitable on certain types of projects, can be prolonged, and ‘spread’ across the organization to a point of ‘cultural toxicity’. \

Recognizing and diffusing toxic behavior by practicing techniques grounded in acknowledgment, gratitude, and appreciation can help you run projects more successfully and foster a healthier workplace.
