Have you ever heard or said the phrase,
I have all of the responsibility but none of the authority”?

Without the proper authority it is difficult to bear the responsibility for a project. Yet this is what we are asked to do many times.

  • How do we exercise project authority when it hasn’t been specifically granted or stated?
  • Is authority something that is given or something that is earned?
  • How do others respond to our authority?

As a Project Manager we are responsible for our projects. By virtue of that responsibility we can assume the authority we need for our projects.

In this session Dan Vickers (LinkedIn profile), PMP will explore various ways to assume authority on a project and how to exercise this authority.

Topics

  • Taking Responsibility – Understanding your role
  • Core Values – Making project decisions based on your core values
  • Principled Leadership – Leading from the front
  • Benevolent Dictatorship – Be kind with your team and bold with your decisions
  • Moving Forward – Exercising authority in your areas of responsibility

Susan Scott, leadership development architect and bestselling author of Fierce Conversations: Achieving Success at Work & in Life, One Conversation at a Time, will introduce you to transformational ideas and principles that will shift your basic understanding of conversations and the power they hold in leadership, building relationships and achieving results.

This presentation is based on Susan’s book Fierce Conversations: Achieving Success at Work and in Life One Conversation at a Time

For a complete selection of Susan’s books (and Kindle editions) including Fierce Leadership click here. Check out her Fierce Inc website. Fierce Conversations: Achieving Success at Work and in Life One Conversation at a Time, will introduce you to transformational ideas and principles that will shift your basic understanding of conversations and the power they hold in leadership, building relationships and achieving results.

The central function of a leader is to engineer intelligent, spirited conversations that provide the basis for high levels of alignment, collaboration and partnership throughout an organization and the healthier financial performance that goes with it.

While no single conversation is guaranteed to change the trajectory of a career, a company, a relationship or a life – any single conversation can.

In this webcast you will learn the 7 principles of a Fierce Conversation:

  • Master the courage to interrogate reality
  • Come out from behind yourself, into the conversation, and make it real
  • Be here, prepared to be nowhere else
  • Tackle your toughest challenge today
  • Obey your instincts
  • Take responsibility for your emotional wake
  • Let silence do the heavy lifting.

Presented by: Susan Scott (LinkedIn profile) ia a leadership development architect and bestselling author of Fierce Conversations, and Fierce Leadership introduces clients to transformational ideas and principles that shifts their basic understanding of conversations and the power they hold in leadership, build relationships and achieve results.
