For many companies looking to improve project performance, Earned Value Analysis (EVA) seems a logical technique to use on projects to better understand and manage performance.

Unfortunately, the reality for many companies is no improvement is achieved, project management costs are up and people are complaining about all of the ‘extra paperwork’.

This talk will cover some of the top pitfalls that can make the use of earned value analysis unsuccessful, along with suggested corrective actions that can be applied to projects to counter these hazards.

Additionally, this webinar will cover key metrics to monitor when using earned value analysis.

Requirements are a significantly weak link in many software projects. They frequently lead to significant ‘scope creep’ when customers change their minds, business needs evolve, and missed or misunderstood items are discovered.

Late changes in requirements are very defect prone and often lead to significant cost and schedule overruns.

Many software projects deliver systems that do not satisfy customers – the infamous “that’s not what we expected” from the customer followed by “but we met the specs” from the developer. In this webinar, Gary Gack (LinkedIn profile) will explore how you can combine some of the best features of several different approaches to “tame the tiger”.

Live Webinar – May 5th, 8:00 am – 9:00 am EST
Offered by Global Knowledge.Presenter ( REP 1999 )
Duration 1 hour 1 PDU / 1 CDU 1 Cat A Free

The world is currently running out of IP addresses. On April 15th 2011 some parts of the world have run out of allocatable IPv4 (IP internet) addresses. IPv6 is the replacement protocol to allow for a wider selection of accessible IP addresses. The deployment of IPv6 is the only available solution to the IPv4 address shortage. Any project involving network or internet infrastructure must deal with this issue. This is a major change to the protocol and as such requires significant transitional planning.

In this webinar, you will examine the need for IPv6 and whether it’s possible to survive on IPv6 alone. You will learn ways to phase in IPv6 and how to successfully migrate to IPv6.

The webinar will include the following elements:

  • Why We Need IPv6
  • IPv4-Only World
  • IPv6-Only World?
  • Mechanisms to Begin Supporting IPv6
    • Tunnels
    • IPv6 Rapid Deployment (IPv6RD)
    • DHCPv6
    • DNS
  • IPv6 Address Planning
  • IPv4 and IPv6 Coexistence
    • Dual Stack Hosts
    • Dual Stack Routers
  • What’s Next?

Speaker: John Berry, R&S Lead Technologist at Global Knowledge.
