Presented by: The Advisory Council Enabling IT Transformation
Duration: 1 Hour 1 Category C PDU – Free PDU

Public cloud is well established, delivering a spectrum of services to businesses of all sizes. Many enterprises, however, have taken a cautious approach to the cloud. While most businesses are using some kind of pubic SaaS offering, there is a reluctance to move core applications and services outside the enterprise data center.

Building a private cloud enables enterprises to enjoy the benefits of cloud infrastructures without the security and service issues of the public cloud.

Using a case study of a company that has undertaken a project to build an enterprise cloud for its internal use, TAC Thought Leader Beth Cohen will explore the available options and issues when building an internal cloud IT infrastructure.

Hot issues to be addressed include:

  • What are the compelling business reasons for building an enterprise cloud?
  • What are the current enterprise-class cloud products, and how do they compare?
  • What gotchas should be considered when implementing an enterprise cloud environment for your company?

Presenter: Beth Cohen, (LinkedIn profile) has more than 20 years of experience building strong IT-delivery organizations from user and vendor perspectives. Her specific expertise includes building scalable, robust IT architectures, operating systems, desktop support, process improvement, program management, IT/business alignment, security, and integration of networks, applications, and systems.
