In this webinar, you will learn how to manage a project when the business analyst and/or the team are not co-located with you and the business.

There are a number of built-in obstacles to an arrangement in which the project manager and business are in one location and the business analyst and solution team are in another.

Some can be overcome with various techniques while some obstacles have to be accepted and factored into the end result of the product. This factoring may include adding time for rework.

The goal of the project manager in such a relationship is to reduce the amount of rework that typically stems from miscommunication and implemented assumptions so that the economic value of using an off-shore team is fully realized.

There are specific issues related to the work a business analyst typically does that are exacerbated by the lack of collocation:

  • More than the time zone and language obstacles, issues such as gaining a full understanding of the business and business environment,
  • Reading the non-verbal language that provides much of the information that goes into user-oriented systems, and
  • Recognizing the politics that play a part in any product implementation. T

To overcome the obstacles the project manager must first understand the role the business analyst plays and the information the business analyst needs to play the role successfully and then arrange for the information to be transferred over there.

Dealing with out of sight team members using the tips and techniques presented in this webinar provides these benefits

  • Having an organized approach to structuring the remote and/or local team
  • Increasing the communication and morale of distance teams working with business analysts
  • Apply the techniques for both business analyst and project manager to increase the chances of project and product success

Join IIL today and ensure that the economic value of using your off-shore team is fully realized.
