How often have you heard that “too much time is spent on planning”? Or, you might experience “lots of plans” yet still encounter blown schedules and budgets.

In this presentation, Lynn will share his observations from many “Years in the Trenches” of managing projects using Microsoft Project.

He will touch on what seems to work, what doesn’t, best practices as wells as capabilities being used and not used.

Some items covered will include work breakdown structure, naming conventions, tasks vs. action items, issues, decisions, risks, Project vs. Excel, estimating work and duration, resources, dependencies, scheduling and weekly status data gathering.

At the conclusion of this event, attendees should be able to answer the following questions:

  • How do you manage projects using Microsoft Project.
  • What seems to work, what doesn’t, what best practices and capabilities are used and not used.
  • How do you:
    • develop a work breakdown str?

    • differentiate tasks vs. action items, issues, decisions, risks?
    • estimate: work and duration?
