If you want to succeed as a project leader, you must learn how to connect with people.

While it may seem like some people are just born with it, the fact is anyone can learn how to make every communication an opportunity for a powerful connection.

Connecting with others—one-on-one or in teams — improves your sense of community, increases your ability to create teamwork and skyrockets your influence.

Project leaders who connect with others have better relationships, experience less conflict, and get more things done than those who cannot connect.

The leaders who have learned the art of connection are able to communicate their ideas persuasively, establishing buy-in and attracting followers.

To be an effective and successful project leader, you need to learn to communicate in a way that connects with others. Join us and learn how to identify with people and relate to others in a way that increases your influence with them.

According to the Carnegie Institute of Technology, 15% of success is due to brains and skills and the other 85% is due to personality factors including “Emotional Intelligence”. The most important is the ability to deal with other people successfully.

How good are you at handling your internal responses?

A primary key to effectively dealing with conflict and difficult people centers on your internal response, the automatic reaction that someone’s behavior triggers inside of you.

Remember communication is mostly non-verbal. Your internal response will show up on your face and in your body language.

Think about how you typically react in difficult situations.

If your reactions are not working for you, then it is time to consider more effective strategies.

In this session David will:

  • Define conflict and difficult people
  • Identify the causes of conflict
  • Discuss conflict resolutions tactics
  • Review the five main styles of dealing with conflict
  • Learn the eight main types of difficult people
  • Discuss steps in dealing with difficult people and the resolution process
