Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Gartner Webinars

The COVID-19 crisis revealed the fragility of globalized, interconnected, complex supply chains.

Consumption-based supply chains are unsustainable and have limited resilience. Supply chain leaders can increase raw materials security by championing the circular economy.

Gartner research indicates that 51% of supply chain professionals expect emphasis on the circular economy to increase across the next two years.

In this webinar Sarah Watt (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Sr Director Analyst looks at why supply chain organizations must adopt four strategic materials imperatives to realize the key benefits of participating in the circular economy.

Discussion Topics:

  • The tenets of the circular economy
  • Strategies to enable effective end-of-life materials management
  • The benefits of participating in the circular economy

Did you know that the United States Air Force invented the title “Project Manager”?

In fact, much of the early development of project management was on projects performed for the government.

In this webinar Nigel Blampied (LinkedIn profile) will discuss project management by the government rather than for the government. If you work in government, or want to know more about project management in government, this is the webinar for you.

Nigel shall consider projects in the context of public organizations, how the nature of government affects projects, how the public agency perspective on projects differs from that of the private sector, and challenges faced in the public sector.

This an introduction, with more in-depth discussion to follow in future webinars.

There is a lot of – often passionate – debate on and offline amongst PPM practitioners when it comes to these decisions.

Praxis Framework Founder and APM Honorary Fellow Adrian Dooley, believes that defining all forms of project delivery using artificial constraints such as project, programme, agile and waterfall is counterproductive. Ian Clarkson, PPM consultant, author & speaker at QA is not so sure.

Richard Pharro  (LinkedIn profile) CEO of APMG International – will chair this live panel debate with Adrian and Ian on 30 September. It is set to be a lively affair and we encourage participants to take part by way of polls and questions.

Have Your Say!

If you join us for the live debate and would like to submit any points of view or arguments in advance, email Mark Constable who will share with the panel in advance of the session.

Live Webinar September 18th, 2020 – 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: International Institute for Software Testing
(IIST – Rep 4514)

When things get hectic and the schedule slips, it becomes crucial to get back to the customer as soon as possible with some adjustments to functionality being delivered. In fact, it is even more crucial to avoid that schedule slippage in the first place.

Most importantly, it is critical to any project manager or QA manager to provide accurate estimates for each feature to be delivered, with accurate time frame when it will be delivered.

Agile projects also must have better control over increments to make sure specific functionality is delivered at the right time.

In this presentation, Dr. Magdy Hanna will show how Feature-Based Project Management™ adopted by Rommana ALM sets a new standard for managing software projects.

Some of the features that will be discussed in this presentation are:

  • Allocating and managing project resources, roles, responsibilities and access rights.
  • Creating and managing project tasks for both development and testing on the project level, as well as on the requirement level.
  • Creating and maintaining action item lists for both development and testing effort.
  • Managing risks throughout the project for both development and testing on the project level, as well as on the requirement level.
  • Creating and maintaining project timeline for all project tasks for both development and testing.
  • Creating and maintaining cost and time estimates for both development and testing tasks, either on the projects level or the requirement level. Managing product release and features included in each release.

Presenter: Dr. Magdy Hanna PhD (LinkedIn profile) is a recognized educator, speaker and consultant in several areas of software engineering. His highly rated seminars in various topics over the last thirty-five years have spanned various aspects and capacities of software projects and processes.

He has trained over 50,000 professionals around the world over the last 20 years. As a professor of Software Engineering at the University of St. Thomas , he taught graduate courses on several software engineering topics with emphasis on practical software quality techniques.

Dr. Hanna developed new approaches and methods in software engineering including the Scenario-Based Development and Testing (SBDT), Requirement-Based Project Management (RBPM), Software Quality Engineering Methodology (SQEngineer), the Unified Data Model (UDM), and the Data-Driven Object Model ( DOM ). Dr. Hanna and his instructors conduct hundreds of free online webinars each year.

Dr. Hanna also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Software Test Professionals, a publication of IIST, now the Bug Free Zone.

As Public-Private-Partnerships schemes for the procurement of public infrastructure are growing quickly growing in popularity in Asia-Pacific, many governments are faced with the question how to professionalize their PPP Units or PPP Knowledge Hubs.

Because of the long-term nature (and corresponding risks) of PPP projects, it is crucial that a sound framework drives the selection, appraisal and tender phases of PPP projects.

This requires knowledge and experience of PPP professionals, as well as a sound understanding of the market conditions and financial markets. So how can governments improve their capabilities in a structured and efficient way.

In this webinar, Jan-Willem Middelburg & Mun Kit Choong will provide an overview of the Public-Private-Partnership Maturity Index® (PPPMI).

Developed by Cybiant, the PPP Maturity Index uses the CP3P certification as a knowledge base and provides an assessment that measures PPP framework maturity, breaking them down in critical capabilities that are required to improve PPP success.

They  will showcase which critical capabilities are required, and how they can be translated into structure improvement programs.

This webinar is hosted jointly by APMG-International and Cybiant. APMG-International developed the CP3P Certification framework in collaboration with the World Bank.

Cybiant was the first accredited PPP training provider in Asia, and has certified hundreds of individuals in PPP Best Practices.

Presenters:

MK Choong (LinkedIn profile) Regional Manager – ASEAN & Japan at APMG   is responsible for PPP partnerships in this region.

Jan-Willem Middelburg (LinkedIn profile) Managing Director / Co-founder Cybiant, based in Kuala Lumpur started Cybiant with the mission to make a more sustainable world for the Next Generation through the use of data and automation. Jan-Willem was the first accredited CP3P certified trainer in Asia, and has been involved in dozens of PPP project in the APAC region.
