The way we develop and deliver software has changed dramatically in the past five years, but the metrics we use to measure quality remain largely the same. Every other aspect of application delivery has been scrutinized and optimized as we transform our processes for DevOps.

Why not put quality metrics under the microscope as well?

To provide the software testing community with an objective perspective on which quality metrics are most critical for implementing DevOps, Tricentis commissioned Forrester to research the topic.

Forrester analyzed how DevOps leaders use and value 75 common quality metrics, then identified which metrics matter most for DevOps success.

This web seminar takes a deep dive into the findings from that research.

Get answers to your important questions, including:

  1. Are “popular” quality metrics like number of automated tests, test case coverage, and pass/fail rate important in the context of DevOps?
  2. What metrics can help you ensure that continuous updates don’t undermine the very user experience that you’re working so hard to enhance?
  3. How do your team’s quality metrics rank? Do DevOps experts believe they’re overrated?
  4. Are you among the select few taking advantage of “hidden gems”?

Presenter :  Wayne Ariola, (LinkedIn profile) Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, leads the development and execution of Parasoft’s long-term strategy. Wayne has contributed to the design of core Parasoft technologies and has been awarded several patents for his inventions.

Defects and errors prevent applications and systems from delivering the value their designers and customers intended.

Moreover, defects and errors present opportunities for malicious actors to undermine the integrity, availability and confidentiality of essential business data and computational assets.

Many large cyber incidents (ex. Target, Yahoo! and Equifax) have reduced the tolerance of regulators, shareholders, customers and the public for poor cyber security practices.

The greatest threat is directed towards the greatest value, albeit the path of attack may be roundabout. Security testing is an essential phase in the application and systems development and operations lifecycle.

Join RBCS to learn about this valuable professional development step that will bolster your career, and assist your employer’s efforts to take substantive steps to ensure their business goals are reached and risks managed.

Archimedes once wrote, “Give me a place to stand, and a lever long enough, and I will move the world.” In Agile, the place to stand is testing, and the lever is test automation.

Are you using all the leverage that lever gives you?

Most organizations are missing some tricks, and not getting the full value of test automation. In this webinar, Rex will survey all the different ways you can—and should—take advantage of test automation as an Agile tester.

The best news: Many of these forms of automation involve tools that won’t cost you a dime! Spend some time learning about some high-ROI, proven best practices to reduce failure costs and increase quality

(IIST – Rep 4514) – A Rommana ALM Webinar

The success of any project depends on how requirements are being managed, and how changes are being controlled through out the project.

When things get hectic and the schedule slips, it becomes crucial to get back to the customer as soon as possible with some adjustments to functionality being delivered. In fact, it is even more crucial to avoid that schedule slippage in the first place.

Most importantly, it is critical to any project manager or QA manager to provide accurate estimates for each feature to be delivered, with accurate time frame when it will be delivered.

Agile projects also must have better control over increments to make sure specific functionality is delivered at the right time.

In this presentation, Dr. Magdy Hanna will show how Feature-Based Project Management™ adopted by Rommana ALM sets a new standard for managing software projects.

Some of the features that will be discussed in this presentation are:

  • Allocating and managing project resources, roles, responsibilities and access rights.
  • Creating and managing project tasks for both development and testing on the project level, as well as on the requirement level.
  • Creating and maintaining action item lists for both development and testing effort.
  • Managing risks throughout the project for both development and testing on the project level, as well as on the requirement level.
  • Creating and maintaining project timeline for all project tasks for both development and testing.
  • Creating and maintaining cost and time estimates for both development and testing tasks, either on the projects level or the requirement level. Managing product release and features included in each release.

Presenter: Dr. Magdy Hanna PhD (LinkedIn profile) is a recognized educator, speaker and consultant in several areas of software engineering. His highly rated seminars in various topics over the last thirty-five years have spanned various aspects and capacities of software projects and processes.

He has trained over 50,000 professionals around the world over the last 20 years. As a professor of Software Engineering at the University of St. Thomas , he taught graduate courses on several software engineering topics with emphasis on practical software quality techniques.

Dr. Hanna developed new approaches and methods in software engineering including the Scenario-Based Development and Testing (SBDT), Requirement-Based Project Management (RBPM), Software Quality Engineering Methodology (SQEngineer), the Unified Data Model (UDM), and the Data-Driven Object Model ( DOM ). Dr. Hanna and his instructors conduct hundreds of free online webinars each year.

Dr. Hanna also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Software Test Professionals, a publication of IIST, now the Bug Free Zone.
