YJTJ (Your Job Tool’s Job)â„¢

An Effective Mindset for Building NPD Schedules with
Project Management Scheduling Software

For New Product Development (NPD) projects, a good mindset for scheduling, controlling, and closing NPD project schedules is warranted.

Your Job: Provide scheduling software with information related to the schedule. Tool’s Job: create and manage the schedule.

  • The YJTJ Process is designed to provide that mindset by providing project managers with the ability to more successfully think about and manage projects, and to more successfully think about and work in concert with, as opposed to in conflict with, scheduling software.
  • The YJTJ concepts provide the foundational building blocks that enable successful project, resource, and portfolio management.
  • Applying the YJTJ process to your NPD projects will greatly simplify schedule communication and coordination essential to new product success.

The primary intent of this presentation is to provide those who schedule NPD projects with a proven mindset for successfully managing projects, and for successfully thinking about and working with scheduling software.

Skills learned in this presentation can be applied in many project management scheduling software solutions.
