Live Webinar October 17th, 2012 3:00pm – 4:00 pm
Webinar Duration: 1 Hour ea Credits: 1 Category C – Free PDUs
Presented by: HR.com

In 2013 you rarely hear people referring to ‘managers’ in the workplace. The default term used today is ‘Leaders’.

But what does it mean to be a leader in an organization?

Leadership is not about position or title. It’s about developing effective relationships with followers and inspiring them to higher levels of performance.

For too long, leadership has been taught through role modeling, but you cannot become a better leader by trying to be more like somebody else.

You need to understand what makes you an inspiring leader and deploy these differentiators with skill. Leadership is a discipline that takes practice.

In this session we will explore the leadership development framework of Why Should Anyone Be Led by You?: What It Takes To Be An Authentic Leader – a a best-selling book by London Business School professor Rob Goffee (bio) and Gareth Jones (Speakers’ Corner profile).

Goffee and Jones show us how leadership is non-hierarchical, relational and contextual. It relies on leaders effectively building their CASE – Community, showing up Authentically, Building Significance into the work and maintaining a level of excitement or energy in the workplace.

Join Cate Jones, on this interactive session to discover how “Why Should Anyone Be Led by You?” can provide your organization with an effective Leadership Development process that enables every manager to understand and take on the role of leader, not matter what their background or experience.

Managers will find the process to be a great relief as they discover that effective leadership is not about being somebody else – it’s about being yourself, more, with skill.
