Did you know that Transition management practitioners have suggested that over two thirds of failed outsourcing relationships are due to transition-related challenges?

  – Beulen, Tiwari, van Heck, 2011

The lack of specific literature on this subject, has led to many misconceptions, starting with vocabulary, which can sometimes lead to misunderstandings when discussing transition with non-experts.

An IT Outsourcing relationship always starts with a Transition, which is typically a complex program composed of several interrelated projects which can affect nearly every key aspect of the client business.

The goal of this webinar is to give you a high level understanding of transitions challenges in the context of an IT Outsourcing relationship.

Stephane will first describe the key phases of an IT Outsourcing and the associated vocabulary. We will then focus on the Transition, looking at what makes it different from many IT projects.

Presenter: Stephane Chalvin (LinkedIn profile) PMP is a French citizen that lived in the USA and UK. He has over 20 years of international IT experience. He has been leading IT Outsourcing Transitions and Transformations for large global accounts since 2006, most recently as a Transition Director for a global IT service provider.

Better Manage Your Multigenerational Employees

With four generations in the workforce today, tensions are inevitable but problems are avoidable.

These generations think differently, vote differently, buy differently, and dress differently. Work ethic, respect, turnover, dress code, communication tools, fun at work can create real problems for managers and organizations, or they can provide opportunities to bring the generations together.

The bottom line is that what worked in the past doesn’t work now.

Members of one generation will often grumble about another generation using stereotypes that mire a team in needless sticking points. This webcast will show you a practical approach to get the four generations working together.

In this webcast, you’ll learn:

  • The most important stereotype-busting “ghost stories” that explain why each generation thinks the way they do
  • The 12 most frequent generational tensions and what organizations are doing about them
  • A proven 5-step process that gets the generations figuring out for themselves how to work through sticking points and get more done together.

This proven 5-step process gets the generations working through perceived difficulties and getting more done.

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend live; you’ll receive replay information following the event.

Online Webinar – Recorded May 14th 2013
Offered by ASPE (REP 2161) 1 Category C PDU – Free PDU

In the business world, we hear a lot about technology and disruption, and their many challenges. But we’re also starting to hear more about pitfalls related to the human side of business…gaps in the “soft skills” that are equally critical to successful people and companies.

Although many of these skills gaps are nothing new, they are more relevant than ever, and in some cases have been made worse by disruption.

Without core professional skills like communication, initiative, leadership, and etiquette, no team can be truly great and no professional can be truly successful.

You probably deal with the consequences of “soft skill” deficits every day: communication breakdown, misunderstanding, conflict, and damaged morale – just to name a few.

These are productivity killers, and the root causes are broad. There are rising cross-generational differences, a growing lack of interpersonal skills, differences in personality and culture, and erosion in consensus about what constitutes professional behavior.

The good news is that there are teachable skills to address these challenges, and accessible techniques to overcome them. In this free one-hour presentation, we’ll take a look at some of the most common “People Problems” in the mainstream business world, and how we can start dealing with them.

Key topics include:

  • How to communicate effectively
  • Overcoming generational and cultural barriers
  • Leveraging emotional intelligence in the business environment
  • Encouraging self-awareness while building a team mentality
  • Keeping action and culture tied to productivity

Although these needs aren’t new in the business world, even seasoned veterans are beginning to see the need for a “reloaded” approach to developing these skills. This will be a high-level conversation about how to navigate these soft skills as we face continuing changes in business landscapes and a rising new generation of professionals.
