Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU

Agile methodologies stress the benefits of collaboration and working with cross-functional teams to encourage strong communication between business owners, from whom we get requirements for products, and the technical team that produces the product.

Two of the four values in the Agile Manifesto highlight the emphasis Agile methodologies place on strong collaboration. “Individuals and interactions over processes and tools” reminds us of the importance of strong and respectful communication.

For example, rather than testers and developers using a defect tracking tool to record bugs, they are encouraged to sit and work together to recreate and resolve issues.

Agile methodologies require frequent and face-to-face communication between all team members. Being a highly skilled and versatile communicator is vital in the Agile environment for success.

Key to this is the ability to understand different behavioral styles and learn how to adapt to build solid and positive relationships with both team members and customers.

You can increase your success 25%, 50% even 75% by developing style flexibility and communicating based on the others personal style.

This is in the spirit of the Platinum Rule: Treat others in the way they prefer to be treated!

This session will provide an understanding of: personal communication style, identify styles of others quickly, adapt your style to build rapport which will enable you to increase your success in collaborating with others.
