Beyond Diversity & Inclusion

Share

Live Webinar November 4th, 2020 – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm EST
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider:  HR.com

You Will Learn:

  1. Explore the concepts relevant to today around diversity, inclusion, belonging, allyship and equity
  2. Enhance your abilities to create inclusive spaces
  3. Take ownership of helping to create and manage a culture of respect, civility and trust
  4. Inclusive leader competencies
  5. Understand key concepts for diversity, inclusion, and beyond needed for today
  6. Learn factors affecting both expression and perception

In these times, it is necessary to go beyond diversity and inclusion (D&I), it should be more than just a policy. In fact, research shows that employees who feel their voice is heard are more likely to perform their best work.

The results of this year’s AMA Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Survey confirm that simply having a diversity & inclusion policy in place does not effectively solve the problem of discriminatory practices, whether deliberate or unconscious.

A successful culture of belonging requires leadership commitment and involvement, an ongoing practice of inclusion, recognition of unique talents and accomplishments and an environment that fosters respect for openly and authentically sharing thoughts.

This webcast will provide insight to the critical concepts of equity, belonging, and allyship, how they impact workplace culture and interactions, and the steps necessary to start building an action plan for a diversity, inclusion and belonging initiative in your organization.

Jeff will discuss the results of this survey, their implications and:

  • In-house D&I practices and policies—and whether organizations’ employees think they are being effectively implemented
  • Current D&I initiatives and what the main organizational focus relevant to these should be at the present time
  • Response rates of employees being discriminated against in the workplace
  • Awareness of unconscious bias in the workplace, from the perspective of individual employees, as well as among co-workers
  • Explore the concepts relevant to today around diversity, inclusion, belonging, allyship and equity
  • Enhance your abilities to create inclusive spaces and champion diversity
  • Take ownership of helping to create and manage a culture of respect, civility and trust
  • Inclusive leader competencies
  • Factors affecting both expression and perception
  • Understand key concepts for diversity, inclusion, and beyond needed for today

Presenter: Jeff Becker (LinkedIn profile) Director, Corporate Learning Solutions American Management Association has 20+ years’ experience in sales generation, leadership development, coaching and corporate education. Prior to joining AMA, Jeff worked in human resources, operations and sales where he consulted and developed executive to mid-level management and frontline associates on change management, strategy implementation, and performance management.

EVMS – Part 2 Of 3
View EVMS: Part 1 Here

This series of webinars will introduce people to the, often poorly understood, system of work (the Earned Value Management System) that underpins good Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and enduring decisions.

The techniques for analysing EVM data are well understood and widely deployed. However, the system of work that provides ‘unquestionable’ data to analyse is less well understood. This, in turn, has led to a lack of understanding of what Earned Value Analysis is actually telling us about our projects.

This series of webinars aims to improve and broaden the understanding of what makes a good Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and why it is important to be as concerned about the system as it is about the data.

Scot Butcher & Martin Eveleigh will build up your knowledge over three webinars. In this second webinar they will start to get into more detail of what constitutes a “good” EVMS and we will look at the most common standard used: EIA748.

Along the way, Scot & Martin will also debunk a number of EVM myths.

Please Note:  Within the 3 hours of the 3 webinars, you can only achieve an awareness level of the scope and complexity of an effective EVMS. It is highly likely that, for some attendees, this will leave them with more questions than answers. However, the intent of these webinars is just that – to start to get people to ask themselves the difficult questions.
