Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU

In today’s competitive environment, being the first to market is critical. However, what happens when there’s such a heavy focus on building teams and changing roles that the quality aspects of your transformation are put on the back burner?

Any move to agility may run into impediments if you haven’t engaged quality from the beginning, or worse, have rushed unfinished or buggy products to market.

In this one hour discussion, the panelists will talk about how organizations use an agile mindset and approach to transition from traditional ways of thinking to including a QMO when delivering quality products and solutions incrementally. We will explore the quality journey from an ad hoc and manual orientation to an automated continuous learning approach.

In schedule management, one of the scheduling approaches to develop a project or program schedule is the Critical Path Method (CPM), which determines the critical path.

You, as a management practitioner, would have heard about CPM because it’s a widely scheduling approach.

The main way to determine the critical path is to use the forward pass and backward pass technique. This is also known as the two-pass technique. With this method, one can find out the early start (ES), late start (LS), early finish (EF) and late finish (LF) for every activity in a network diagram.

This method also determines the total float (TF) or total slack, which informs about the flexibility of schedule.

Explore:

  • How to conduct forward pass and backward pass calculations?
  • How to determine the total float/slack for the activities?
  • What are the significances of total float, ES, EF, LS and LF?
  • How does Microsoft Project software address two-pass technique?
  • How does Microsoft Project software determine total float/slack?

70% Of People Are In The Wrong Job

Yes, you read that right.  70 PERCENT!!!  That’s 125 million people in North America alone.  It’s one of the biggest issues facing leaders, companies and employers on a global scale.

Compounding that massive issue, the labor market is changing rapidly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent economic downturn. Many companies have implemented hiring freezes and are substantially decreasing their external hiring.  Leaders are faced with the challenge of keeping their remote teams engaged and productive.

Unfortunately, for the most part, the HR industry is only managing these costly pain points with band-aids instead of addressing the core issue.

Technology has been primarily focused on process improvement and big data have been limited or misused to-date to make accurate people decisions including flashy AI solutions that are really only as smart as the information they are given. (garbage in, garbage out).

More than ever, it is vital for leaders to use fact-based, data-driven insights to truly understand the talent they already have working for them and what drives their success.

Internal mobility is crucial in tightening skills gaps, empowering employees to discover new career paths and preparing the workforce for the needs of tomorrow, but how can leaders tackle Internal Mobility in a simple and scalable way?

Join Jamie Schneiderman, (LinkedIn profile) CEO & Founder of Career Spark to learn:

  1. How you can easily identify the hidden gold within your own organization and teams.
  2. Discover how you can begin implementing effective career-pathing and development for every role in your organization and through a predictive career mobility approach
  3. Learn what your organization can do to retain your top performers instead of losing them to your competition.
  4. Prepare and empower your teams to succeed and be productive even during times of massive upheaval.
