Live Webinar December 7th, 2023 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free
Provider:  Modern Analyst

Steve has been one to say over the years that he would hire a person with excellent communication skills, analytical skills and facilitation skills even without business area knowledge and / or technical skills because the latter knowledge and skills can be taught to someone who possesses the former set of skills.

Let’s face it, technical skills keep changing faster than a normal human can keep up.

Only a few years ago you would find it hard to see a position announcement in the Business Analyst world that included ‘machine language skills’, but today it is not unusual.

  • What are the companies who ask for business analyst candidates with “machine language skills” or “blockchain background” or ‘big data knowledge” really looking for?
  • Why are they asking for technical skills that are not really part of the business analyst’s venue?

This webinar presents the technical skills in demand today and what the organizations asking for those skills actually expect out of the business analyst.

The webinar also discusses the sneaky recruiting tactics many organizations use when hiring, especially in a seller’s recruitment market.

Presenter: Steven P. Blais, PMP, PMI-PBA (LinkedIn profile) is an author, consultant, teacher and coach  and has over 45+ years of information systems experience in technology management, consulting and marketing positions. Despite impressive advances, many organizations establish generative AI (GenAI) policies or steering committees that focus too much on managing risks at the cost of innovating in a dynamic market.

GenAI should be seen by executive leaders of digital business as a maturing technology that provides an enormous opportunity to create and dominate new market categories.

Leaders must strike the right balance between the broadest efforts possible to innovate with the need to manage the most pressing risks. This complimentary webinar will help executive leaders of digital business determine not just how to use generative AI in your organization, but how you can apply it to establish new competitive advantages.

Live Webinar – December 7th, 2023 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm EST
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free
Provider: Training Magazine Network

Best practice organizations allocate 4-5% of the learning budget for measurement and evaluation.

Yet, most L&D teams invest just one percent or less of their budgets to measurement and evaluation—and most of that investment is in tracking who is in the program (Level 0), reaction to learning (Level 1), and learning (Level 2). Very little data is captured for application (Level 3), impact (Level 4), and ROI (Level 5). This is not good news.

With this backdrop, it should come as no surprise that learning and development continues to be regarded as a cost and not an investment. However, the L&D function can be a business contributor and, in many organizations, a business driver.

This session will explore the current status of measurement and evaluation globally, and what can be done (and is being done) to dramatically change the view, perception, and success of learning and development.

After attending this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the need for more investment in measurement and evaluation
  2. Identify the levels of outcomes needed for top executives
  3. Design learning and development to deliver business value
  4. Measure learning and development at the impact and ROI levels

Presenter:  Jack Phillips, (LinkedIn profile) Ph.D. is co-founder and chairman of ROI Institute, Inc & developer of the ROI Methodology, the most applied approach to demonstrating value of programs, projects, and initiatives. With  experience in the aerospace, textile, metals, construction materials, and banking industries, Jack served as training and development manager, as Sr human resource officer, as president of a regional bank, and a management professor at a major state university.
