PDU Of The Day
My Christmas Card To You

Focusing on a healthy work/life balance is important!

It has been an intense year for our teams, our families, our communities and our work as we adapt to health challenges.

As we look forward to 2024 we trust and pray that together we can work towards finding a new normal that creates engagement between communities that assists, supports and encourages each other.

Here at PDU Of The Day, we are in our  our 2nd decade of supporting our community and we will be going forward focusing on recorded opportunities rather than the daily live opportunities.

Project managers understand how crucially important respect and project team wellness are to the productivity of the project.

In 2024 if you support your teams in any way, recognize that building engagement builds loyalty. We are divided more than ever – building unity and respect amongst our teams is the best way to succeed!

I genuinely want to thank all of our readers and our volunteers who make this site possible! I know that you are of many diverse backgrounds and faiths and at this time of year I appreciate being able to express my thanks and best wishes in one of my favorite holiday songs. The lyrics of this song express my thoughts and my prayers to all of you so much better than I can express.

YOU ALL make this possible! Blessings to you all!

– Martin Chernenkoff Editor PDU Of The Day

My Christmas Card To You

Written by Tony Romeo Sung by: David Cassidy Discography

To you and all your family, your neighbors and your friends
May all your days be happy with a joy that never ends
May peace and love surround you
at Christmas time and all the whole year through …

I’m looking out my window at the softly falling snow
that dances in the early morning light
I got my guitar right before me, strummin’ a beautiful sound
watching it a-comin’ down, all around
on the fields and the farms and the road to town

And I’m thinkin’ up a letter that I’m writin’ in my head
a Christmas card to all the folks I love
Instead of lettin’ the postman bring it, I decided I’d rather sing it
especially for you, for you …

To you and all your family, your neighbors and your friends
May all your days be happy with a joy that never ends
May peace and love surround you
at Christmas time and all the whole year through

May your life be filled with sunshine, may your every wish come true
May you find the sweet fulfillment in everything you do
May your days be blessed with the very very best
both now and the whole year through
it says so in my Christmas card to …

You and all your family, your neighbors and your friends
May all your days be happy with a joy that never ends
May peace and love surround you
at Christmas time and all the whole year through
at Christmas time and all the whole year through

Please do what you can to support others even if it is only to share a smile!

For the fourth year, Training magazine and Wilson Learning Worldwide have teamed up to conduct the Annual Leadership Survey, which focuses on creating effective leaders and preparing the next generation of leaders.

The results of this survey indicate that high-performing organizations differ from lower performers in terms of the focus of their efforts, the involvement of executives, their cross-generational mentoring, and how well learning is designed for the next generation of leaders.

Key among these differences is recognition that effective leadership involves both skill and character development.

In this webinar, Lorri & Michael will cover the specific actions that high-performing organizations are taking to develop both the heart and skills of leaders and strengthen their organization’s future.

Lorri Freifeld, (LinkedIn profile) Editor-in-Chief of Training magazine, and Dr. Michael Leimbach, (LinkedIn profile) VP of Global Research and Development for Wilson Learning, discuss important findings from this study and examine the specific actions that high-performing L&D organizations are taking to advance their leadership development efforts.

In this session, they’ll explore:

  • What organizations are doing to develop skills and character
  • The best practices of high-performing leadership development functions
  • Steps to strengthen leadership development efforts to prepare for the next generation of leaders

Project-based thinking and process is often the largest inhibitor of achieving agility. It explains why the notion of ‘Project to Product’ has gained such popularity to the point of becoming a buzzword in recent years.

Despite the enthusiasm about becoming a product-driven organization, many companies still hang onto their old project-based ways due to some “big rock” constraints, including funding and separation of IT and business.

So, what can you do to make a successful shift?

Join Anne Steiner, Cprime’s VP of Product & Technology, to explore the challenges you may face in your product agility journey and how to overcome them. We’ll explore:

  • Common constraints you may encounter when shifting from project to product and how to address them
  • How to shift to product based funding models
  • The role of the product manager
  • Benefits you’ll experience with true product agility

Presenter:  Anne Steiner  (LinkedIn profile) VP of Product and Technology at Cprime leads the Cprime Product Agility and Technology practice. She was previously band leader for DevJam. DevJam has helped companies of all shapes and sizes transform from traditional, project-thinking to become product-driven organizations that emphasize continuous learning. Anne has 20+ years’ experience in the software industry, working as a developer, product owner, product leader, and coach.
