Live Webinar – February 14th 2012, 12:00-1:00 PM EST
Offered by ASPE (REP 2161) 1 Category A PDU – Free PDU
This is a 1 hour seminar and attendees will be awarded 1 PDU for participating

Organizations are increasingly finding themselves overwhelmed with data, yet starved for actionable information. As such, organizations are migrating quickly to the utilization of business intelligence (BI) and advanced analytics.

One of the fastest growing areas within BI — Predictive Analytics & Data Mining (PADM) — provides substantial returns when implemented properly, as demonstrated in a wealth of case studies. PADM is being explored within these organizations as a way to improve their decision making processes, thereby increasing efficiency and minimizing risk.

Yet, the vast majority of practitioners who attempt PADM implementations approach the discovery process like any other IT project. When their projects fail or fall short, they prematurely dismiss the practice and delay the tremendous gains they could otherwise reap with PADM.

This web seminar is intended for stakeholders, functional managers and business practitioners in business, industry, and government, who have made substantial investments in data collection, storage, retrieval, visualization and basic analysis but may not have the technical or strategic experience necessary to chart an effective roadmap to uncover the valuable predictive insights hidden within their existing data.

No prior knowledge is required.

Presenter: Tony Rathburn (LinkedIn profile) is a Senior Consultant with a predictive modeling and data mining consulting firm offering guidance and results for those who are data-rich, yet information-poor. Tony’s expertise is focused on the design and development of business models of human behavior. Tony has extensive experience in the financial sector, banking, energy, telecommunication and has extensive functional area perspective in development of models for trading, pricing, CRM, B2B, B2C, fraud detection, risk management and attrition/retention.

  2. What steps to take in order to become a SharePoint developer and a jumpstart on getting started down that path.
  3. Why the SharePoint community is unique and important.

Presenter: Mark Rackley (LinkedIn profile)has been developing software applications for over 15 years filling the roles of Project Manager, Business Analyst, Lead Developer, and Software Architect. Mark currently works for Juniper Strategy, LLC as a Solutions Architect and SharePoint Practice Lead. Presented by: Acumen – Proven Project Analytics

Analytics can be a major “Success Factor” to delivering a project on time and on budget. This session will focus on how you can use analytics to drive your process.

This webinar presentation will walk through a case study on a major capital expenditure project that was able to achieve a faster, risk-adjusted, and still achievable schedule using a combination of schedule and risk analytics based on Acumen’s S1 S5 schedule maturity framework, built into the Fuse project analysis platform.

Through groundbreaking analytics and reporting techniques, what was originally deemed to be unachievable- a faster less risky project that would enable a faster-to-market gas production facility, was achieved!

Join Project Acumen for this one hour web presentation walking through the full case study and demonstrating the techniques used.

Note: A certificate of participation will be issued upon request.
