Smart people learn from experience and learn from history, yet despite claiming to be an engineering discipline the IT industry has been slow to collect software project history data and make use of it to improve performance.

The ISBSG is has the largest open repository of Software Project history data. It is used by small and large organizations worldwide for everything from quick early project estimates to detailed benchmarking.

This webinar with ISBSG Director Peter Hill will explain what data is available and show its practical uses. “Rules of Thumb” derived from the data will be provided along with valuable graphs and charts and examples that you can make immediate use of.

Note: ITMPI is now charging a fee to obtain the PDU code. This fee ONLY needs to be paid if you ask the provider for the code – This code can be obtained from the PMI.ORG site for free. Start to record your PDU – on Step 2 place the Rep # 2733 (in our listing) in the “Provider Number” area and the title of the webinar in the “Activity Name” and hit search. Agile has made the leap and is now mainstream. The reality is, once something becomes mainstream, hiring needs to happen. When this happens, hiring managers need a baseline to judge applicants. In comes certification. The agile certification market has grown extensively over the last two years with both large and small organizations entering the market place.

In this one hour web seminar ASPE will discuss what the components are for a traditional certification program, one that will gain respect and recognition. From there we will discuss the value of certifications from an employer prospective and an employee prospective.

The reality is they are not mutually exclusive. They will also detail the top Agile certification in the market place and give details on steps to achieve each certification, including thought on the best certification based on needs.

You will Learn:

  1. Difference between certification and certificate programs
  2. What the elements are for certification programs
  3. How employers use and value certifications
  4. How employees use and value certifications
  5. Scrum Alliance certification stack
  6. IC Agile Certification stack
  7. PMI Agile based certifications
  8. Other Agile certifications (Flavor based and holistic)

NOTE: As of May 2011, PMI began reviewing and accepting applications for the PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification? As part of eligibility PMI requires 21 hours in Agile Project Management education. Combining a variety of courses, webinars and Learning On-Demand (LOD) Modules, This session would qualify against the training hours required.
