Using his typical humorous and engaging presentation style, Dale Howard will reveal a series of tips, tricks, and best practices for using the Microsoft Project 2010 and 2013 desktop applications.

Dale’s lively presentation may include any or all of the following topics:

  • Add the word Cancelled to the right of the Gantt bar for a cancelled task,
  • Apply conditional cell background formatting for new tasks added through change control,
  • Create a custom Group to display the project name and WBS in the Resource Usage view of a master project,
  • Add the Indent Name command to the Quick Access Toolbar to show/hide outlining in the project, and
  • When lowering the Max. Units Value for a resource, rapidly reset the Assignment Units value for a resource.

All of these topics apply to both the 2010 and 2013 versions of Microsoft Project.

As a special bonus, Dale will demonstrate how to effectively use some of the new features in Microsoft Project 2013, including the new filters, the new Task Path feature, and the new functionality of the Inactivate Task feature.

Live Webinar – July 31st, 2013 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT
Offered by IAG Consulting (REP 2858)
Duration 1 hour 1 PDU or 1 CDU 1 Cat A Free

So you’ve been assigned a complex, poorly defined project concept… now what?

Nothing is worse (or better) for a senior project manager or analyst than being handed a project that is: strategic, very large, and way outside your comfort zone in complexity. These projects will sometimes roll around the halls of big companies for months while they struggle to gain sufficient momentum and clarity to really move forward with a sense of purpose and direction.

Let’s say one of these career-bruisers/builders is yours?

What do you do next?

This session is about the tactics of early-stage project intake and clarification – getting clarity efficiently.

Learning objectives:

  1. Inside the project intake process – why is intake so dysfunctional?
  2. The action plan – simple steps that drive project clarity and milestones that deliver benefit.
  3. Targeted result – time tested deliverables that work

Live Webinar July 31st, 2013 – 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT
Duration: 1 Hour Credits: 1 PDU Category C – Free PDU
Presented by American Management Association (REP 1294)
Although the AMA is an REP this opportunity may not have a course number Contact the AMA for further information.

Does This Sound Familiar?
If there weren’t people involved, my project would have been delivered on time and under budget!

Unfortunately, the reality is that people are involved in the execution of every project and not even the most sophisticated software or project template can change that fundamental truth.

Communication, interpersonal skills, and an understanding of team dynamics are a project manager’s greatest asset for driving optimal project performance, and the MBTI® tool can fast forward that competence exponentially.

This webcast will present an overview of personality type and how the different types can be leveraged to form a team that harnesses the best of all of them.

What You Will Learn:

  • How Project managers can use personality type to drive project team performance
  • The four MBTI(R) dichotomies and how they relate to project management
  • How knowledge of the MBTI assessment can help you realize outstanding project results when you have no formal authority
  • Personality type and its role in managing multi-cultural project teams

While attending this program is FREE, reservations are required – However most AMA webinars are recorded for later viewing.

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend live; you’ll receive replay information following the event.
