There’s a big secret in project management. Half the time, many of us feel as if we are walking in fog. And we dare not tell anyone. Instead, we hide it with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

In this webinar Carole explodes a myth. No matter what people have told you: when the pressure is on – a ‘can-do’ attitude doesn’t help!

Join Carole to gain real insight into how:

  • the human brain works and ‘why people behave as they do’
  • ‘can- do’ project management takes projects off track

And most important, discover what works instead.

Presenter:  Carole Osterweil, (LinkedIn profile) author of the book Project Delivery, Uncertainty and Neuroscience – A Leader’s Guide to Walking in Fog, is the project coach and troubleshooter behind visible dynamics.  Her pioneering approach brings an understanding of how the human brain works to the world of project management and business transformation. She  increases productivity, improve outcomes and reduces stress.  As an MBA trained psychotherapy, she has led complex change and transformation programmes in the NHS and corporate sectors. She is also one of a select team of coaches working with Cranfield University, the Project Academy, and PA Consulting to support the UK government’s drive to increase senior change, project and programme management capability.

In these times, it is necessary to go beyond diversity and inclusion (D&I), it should be more than just a policy. In fact, research shows that employees who feel their voice is heard are more likely to perform their best work.

The results of this year’s American Management Association (AMA) Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Survey confirm that simply having a diversity & inclusion policy in place does not effectively solve the problem of discriminatory practices, whether deliberate or unconscious.

A successful culture of belonging requires leadership commitment and involvement, an ongoing practice of inclusion, recognition of unique talents and accomplishments and an environment that fosters respect for openly and authentically sharing thoughts.

In this webcast Jeff will provide insight to the critical concepts of equity, belonging, and allyship, how they impact workplace culture and interactions, and the steps necessary to start building an action plan for a diversity, inclusion and belonging initiative in your organization.

Jeff will also discuss the results of this survey, their implications and:

  • In-house D&I practices and policies—and whether organizations’ employees think they are being effectively implemented
  • Current D&I initiatives and what the main organizational focus relevant to these should be at the present time
  • Response rates of employees being discriminated against in the workplace
  • Awareness of unconscious bias in the workplace, from the perspective of individual employees, as well as among co-workers
  • Explore the concepts relevant to today around diversity, inclusion, belonging, allyship and equity
  • Enhance your abilities to create inclusive spaces and champion diversity
  • Take ownership of helping to create and manage a culture of respect, civility and trust
  • Inclusive leader competencies
  • Factors affecting both expression and perception

Who Should Attend:
Training professionals and business unit leaders who wish to gain tools and strategies they can leverage to be a better ally, explore belonging and equity, and create inclusive cultures.

Presenter: Jeff Becker (LinkedIn profile) Director, Corporate Learning Solutions American Management Association has 20+ years’ experience in sales generation, leadership development, coaching and corporate education. Prior to joining AMA, Jeff worked in human resources, operations and sales where he consulted and developed executive to mid-level management and frontline associates on change management, strategy implementation, and performance management.

Did you know that the United States Air Force invented the title “Project Manager”?

In fact, much of the early development of project management was on projects performed for the government.

In this webinar Nigel Blampied (LinkedIn profile) will discuss project management by the government rather than for the government. If you work in government, or want to know more about project management in government, this is the webinar for you.

Nigel shall consider projects in the context of public organizations, how the nature of government affects projects, how the public agency perspective on projects differs from that of the private sector, and challenges faced in the public sector.

This an introduction, with more in-depth discussion to follow in future webinars.

Note: You have to sign in to ProjectManagement.com with your PMI® credentials to register for this opportunity. If you are not signed in with your PMI® credentials you will not see the “Register for this webinar” link
