Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Human Capital Institute

The movie City Slickers was released 30 years ago this summer, long before most people were talking about analytics. The movie, however, contains a lesson that anybody working with measurement today would find useful. Curly, played by Jack Palance, tells Billy Crystal’s character that there is just one secret of life.

When pressed for details about what that one secret is, Palance replies dryly, “that’s for you to figure out.”

It sounds simple, but the secret to effective measurement is understanding what good looks like and good must be measured differently in every situation.

An organization struggling to get its first products out the door might place a premium on productivity, another that has a long list of established customers might shift that focus to quality or customer retention.

In this webcast we will focus on three key takeaways:

  •  Questions that uncover strategic intent
  •  Turning outcomes into measures
  •  Changing and Adjusting metrics as a situation dictates
