Activity Type: Education – Course or Training 1 PDU – Free
Provider:  HBR – Harvard Business Review

In this session Joseph Fuller (LinkedIn profile) will share insights from his research that looked at nearly 7,000 job descriptions for leadership roles, and will explain:

  • The reasons driving this change in skills—including firm size, complexity, and diversity.
  • How companies can systematically build the social skills they want and emphasize social skills development at all levels of the organization
  • Innovative ways of assessing social skills.

How companies will succeed in making these kinds of hires is an open question.

But according to Joseph, the answer will in part depend on effectively evaluating the social skills of job candidates and whether companies decide to make social skills an integral component of their talent management strategies.
