If you feel like your “to do” list is proof that you’re losing the time management battle on a daily basis, you may be stressed but you’re certainly NOT alone!

Most of us struggle with how to get it all done each day and feel exasperated when we realize that WE JUST CAN’T DO IT ALL!!!

Project Managers seem to struggle more than most – being constantly pulled by clients, sponsors, team members, SMEs, functional managers, and other stakeholders seems to leave very little time to get everything done.

The bad news is … that most of us end up running around like a hamster in a wheel trying to find ways to check off tasks as quickly as possible.

The good news is … that there is another way – a totally different way – to approach time management.

The NEW time management model introduces 4 key steps that focus the individual on effectiveness more than efficiency.

The model encourages you to ask yourself key questions like:

  • Am I doing the right things?
  • Am I getting the biggest bang for my minute/hour/day?
  • Am I leveraging other resources that could do this better/quicker than I?

If you need a real paradigm shift to help you truly better manage your time, this session is for you!

Presenter: Dana Brownlee (LinkedIn profile); an energetic and innovative corporate trainer, speaker, and workshop facilitator; garnered her critical team leadership and management consulting experience through her years with AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T, IBM Consulting, and EMC Corporation. In this webinar Owen Anthony will focus on practical ways to improve the transition from project delivery into business as usual.  Looking at lessons learned from other schemes and sharing success factors that support better handovers of schemes, the emphasis will be to help projects deliver benefits.

Billions of pounds are spent globally every year on projects and much has been written and taught about how to manage them as effectively as possible, but if they are not then handed over well, what is the point?

Without focusing on how to pass the project into the business as usual/ end user environment, the chances of the project delivering the benefits it was commissioned for in the first place are significantly reduced.

Owen led an APM research fund study which aimed to identify how handovers can be improved. The study drew upon learning from other organisations including Crossrail, The Ministry of Defence, Mediacity and many others.

The purpose of this talk is to share the findings of the research report, along with some practical tips and recommendations that can be applied to projects to improve their handover.
