Most projects involve contracts with external providers or suppliers of good and services. Those taking on the role of project managers therefore need to know and understand the basics of contract law in order to be effective and avoid risks being ‘gotchas’!

Most projects involve buying something from an external provider. This can range from ‘off the shelf’ widgets to complex contracts for multi-million packages.

Regardless, if you don’t know the basics of contract law, both in the procurement and ‘in-contract’ management phase, you can inadvertently put your organisation at significant commercial risk.

On the other hand, if both parties clearly articulate and understand their legal and contractual obligations, then the project is far more likely to be a success.

What does this mean? Having a basic knowledge of contract law is an essential pre-requisite for an effective project manager!

This first webinar tackles the issue of contracts – what are they all about?
It covers contract formation and the five foundations for a contract; letters of intent; express versus implied terms; freedom of contract and boundaries; special contracts.

This webinar content is suitable for professionals with any level of experience.

Live Webinar May 17th, 2021, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Gartner Webinars

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated digital transformation, and that brought workforce issues that were once years in the future to the front and center. CHROs and talent directors must face the reality that new skills per role are increasing by 6% annually, while 29% of skills hired in 2018 are expected to be irrelevant by 2022.

HR needs to both integrate its planning closely with business strategic planning and seek external insights on changing skills requirements.

By adapting to changing skills requirements and then evaluating both the internal and external talent markets, talent leaders can better decide whether it is best to build, buy or borrow talent to meet business needs.

In this webinar Scott Engler (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner VP Advisor looks at the latest industry trends about the Future of Work, and shares how Gartner TalentNeuron helps clients prepare for that future with insights from labor market data.

Discussion Topics:

  • Adapt to changing skills requirements
  • Prepare for the future of work
  • Gain new insights from labor market data with Gartner TalentNeuron
