The domains of waterfall and agile often appear as two solitudes, not overlapping at all. More often they appear to be warring camps, decrying the other and advocating for their preferred way of working.

This gets reinforced by the adherents of one practice or the other (often most influenced by which perspective they learned first). One is considered good, the other bad, and there is very little middle space to explore common ground, let along find a potential way of working together.

And yet, work together they can. Both strategies have a place, both have a role, and both deliver value. They key is in understanding what each provides, how they are similar and in what important ways they are different, and how commonalities can be found.

If you’re stuck in the middle—or you are wondering what all the fuss is about—you won’t want to miss this  presentation with  Mark Mullaly (LinkedIn profile) author of Researching the Value of Project Management.

The global pandemic has presented all of us with an opportunity to rethink workplace strategy and the technology we use to support our workforce.

In this session Jonathan Sears (LinkedIn profile) Principal – Americas Solutions and Technology Leader, People Advisory Services, Ernst & Young  & Roselyn Feinsod (LinkedIn profile) Principal, People Advisory Services (PAS) at Ernst & Young on will explore the results of the 2021 EY Work Reimagined Employee Survey of more than 16,000 employees in 16 countries.

The survey outlines how new ways of working, family responsibilities and a number of other factors have shifted workers’ priorities. This has driven them to demand flexibility in where and when they work, improvements in how they work and the technology to make them productive.

It is forcing us to think again about the future of collaboration, skills development and more as we reimagine the workplace to suit a future world of hybrid working.

What is the impact of hybrid working models on your employees and your workforce? Join this session to learn more. Ernst & Young’s goal is to work with organizations to create a better working world for everyone.

Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)

Governments face increasing pressure from internal and external stakeholders to both encourage and follow sustainable business practices, and CIOs can take a lead role in addressing this demand.

Constituents and employees alike seek to minimize any potential negative impact on the environment. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives are a way to measure sustainable business progress.

Sustainable technology is a framework to improve ESG performance and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Public sector CIOs have the opportunity to step up and become sustainable technology advisors to help manage ESG risks and opportunities.

In this webinar Kristin R. Moyer (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner VP Distinguished Analyst; Bettina Tratz-Ryan (Linkedin profile, Gartner bio) Gartner VP Analyst & Aapo Markkanen (LinkedIn profile) Gartner Sr Director Analyst; will help public sector CIOs take a more prominent role in enabling sustainable business initiatives
