Improving Project Handover

Share

Online Webinar  – Recorded April 12th 2018
Activity Type: Education – Online or Digital Media  1 PDU – Free
Provider: Association for Project Management – APM

In this webinar Owen Anthony will focus on practical ways to improve the transition from project delivery into business as usual.  Looking at lessons learned from other schemes and sharing success factors that support better handovers of schemes, the emphasis will be to help projects deliver benefits.

Billions of pounds are spent globally every year on projects and much has been written and taught about how to manage them as effectively as possible, but if they are not then handed over well, what is the point?

Without focusing on how to pass the project into the business as usual/ end user environment, the chances of the project delivering the benefits it was commissioned for in the first place are significantly reduced.

Owen led an APM research fund study which aimed to identify how handovers can be improved. The study drew upon learning from other organisations including Crossrail, The Ministry of Defence, Mediacity and many others.

The purpose of this talk is to share the findings of the research report, along with some practical tips and recommendations that can be applied to projects to improve their handover.

Provider: Gartner Webinars

The proven way to yield the best business returns from digital investments is by democratising digital delivery across the enterprise – that is, creating a co-leadership model across the C-suite.

CIOs need to apply a “by design” approach to digital delivery to avoid undesired situations like governance issues or lack of control.

That design is equivalent to applying a franchise approach, where CIOs co-lead, co-deliver and co-govern digital initiatives with their CxO peers.

Join this free webinar as Gartner expert Daniel Sanchez Reina (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Senior Director Analyst draws from the findings of the Gartner 2024 CIO and Technology Executive Agenda to help European IT leaders establish the fundamentals of democratising digital delivery to generate better business results.

Discussion Topics:

  • Explore quantified benefits and the current landscape of digital delivery
  • Entice CxOs to co-own digital delivery
  • Design your “digital franchise”
