Project managers need to be superb communicators, with the ability to build agreements across all units of an organisation.

In addition, they need to adopt a resilient and strong leadership approach, without having direct authority over their team members and frequently needing to build consensus across a team of experts with strong, conflicting opinions.

The need for effective project management is becoming an integral part of bringing new products and services to market across all types of organisations in our sector.

Scientists making the transition in large companies, even with training and support available, may struggle with the culture of life science project management.

In small companies, they may take on accountability for project delivery in addition to their day-to-day science roles, with little or no formal training or support.

This webinar looks to address the challenges in today’s environment where certified project managers are becoming some of the most sought-after professionals.

The guest speakers will also share clear advice, experience and pathways for scientists looking to transition into the parallel world of professional project management and science.

Attendees at this event will:

  • Gain an insight into the transition from scientist to project manager
  • Tap into the project management skills you may have unconsciously picked up already
  • Understand how you can learn the skills and techniques to become an effective Project Manager
  • Hear some of the lessons learnt from sector relevant scientists who have made the transition
