Get ready to apply Improvisation techniques as a project professional.  Regardless of your role: Project Manager, Change Manager, SCRUM Master, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Program Manager, or Subject Matter Expert, you will benefit from Using Applied Improv as a means of establishing Healthy Communication within your teams!

This is not Improv in the sense of comedians at a nightclub in Los Angles.  This Improv in the sense of getting ideas to solve unknowns and define abstract ideas in concrete deliverables.

The Stuff You Do Every Day!

We often host workshops, requirement elicitation sessions, lessons learned meetings, iteration retrospectives, and project kickoffs.  This presentation will help you bring life to those meetings (ceremonies?)

Applied Improv is a way of approaching a conversation that helps facilitate a growth mindset, generative thinking, and building a team whose members feel included and heard.

Using the principles of Applied Improv, you will learn how to energize your meetings, workshops and requirements elicitation sessions.

You will find new ways to interact with your stakeholders to create a growth mindset, increase participation, discuss feedback, and suggest improvements.

Just as Improv implies creative thinking, Applied Improv has defined practices to encourage generative thinking.

Be prepared for a different type of webinar.  This is not going to be a typical webinar.  This will be an Applied Improv session.

Since this session is offering PDUs, there will be a few slides and training, but the majority of the time will be spent using Applied Improve to help you understand how it can benefit you.

Instead of a presenter, there will be a four person team using the techniques.  This is not a scripted session, nor is it “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”  It is two project professionals and two Applied Improv Professions demonstrating leadership and soft skills for project professionals.

Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free

Effective alignment between the data captured by the business and the language used by the business is a key to business success.

A term may have different meanings for different people based on the context or the interpretation. Misunderstandings caused by incorrect interpretation of business data increase the risk of expensive errors and expose huge business risks.

Having a Business Glossary can help to minimize the potential for misinterpretation.

This event will show you how can jump-start the Business Glossary initiative using a template approach. You can save time and money in developing an effective Business Glossary that provides clarification, structure, and content, via a Universal Business Glossary.

This presentation will show how a Business Analyst can begin a Business Glossary initiative through:

  • Implementing best practices for defining terms
  • Jump-starting the glossary initiative using templates
  • Leveraging universal domains
  • Connecting the Business Glossary with the Data Dictionary
  • Managing terms and definitions
  • Understanding the governance required to ensure the longevity of the Business Glossary program
