In the current day, Agile and Digital Transformation are two of the most discussed topics in project management; however, neither is as new as we are led to believe.

Agile started in the last century as a response to the inability of the manufacturing industry to adapt quickly and efficiently to market changes. Agile Software Development was even more than that.

It was a sign of maturity and a natural evolution from a ‘one-man show’ to teamwork. It was also a response to the significant change introduced by Object-Oriented programming.

More than a new way of coding, Object-Oriented software development imposed a new way of thinking and a new mindset. Some ‘Citizen developers’ that emerged after the personal computer spread throughout the business world became professional developers, learning the difference between developing a software tool for a few people and enterprise software development.

The Virtual Enterprise needed integration of information and new software applications, potentially a lot of them. Digital Transformation started also in the last century when paper-based processes were replaced with software-supported processes.

Moving from paper to computer was a shock that was significantly bigger for users than migration to the cloud. Agile and Digital transformation support each other. Certainly, either can be done in isolation but doing both can significantly improve the outcome.

In this webinar Stelian Roman (LinkedIn profile) gives an analysis of lessons learned from managing business transformation projects and implementing agile practices to deliver projects.

It is a project manager’s view that is likely different than what is heard in conferences and training courses.

Live Webinar November 8th, 2022 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training 1 PDU – Free
Provider:  HBR – Harvard Business Review

“What does a workplace utopia look like to you?”

This is the question Ella F. Washington (LinkedIn profile) of Georgetown University asks company leaders, and often she hears about an ideal vision of an organization that values diversity and inclusion and wants employees to bring their whole selves to work.

But how can you get there?

Organizations have largely missed the mark when it comes to creating environments where all employees thrive in an equal and equitable way, because they treat diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as a program that gets done rather than the necessary and difficult journey it is.

Ella will lead a live, interactive HBR webinar focused on how organizations can make real progress on equity and inclusion. Based on her years of experience as a DEI leader in multiple industries,

Ella will discuss:

  • The requirements for a truly inclusive workplace
  • A framework for determining where your organization is on its journey
  • Real-world stories of companies that have made that necessary journey

Progress is hard-won on the necessary journey to becoming an inclusive organization, but it must be won. John

Lewis said it best: “You see something you want to get done, you cannot give up, and you cannot give in.”

Join Ella and HBR on November 8 to understand what it takes to make real progress on equity and inclusion.

Ideally, we spend our time with problem prevention instead of problem reaction.

In this webinar Steven Mitchell (LinkedIn profile) will uncover that problems are not a black box, but only a few distinct categories, each with their own solution technique.

Likewise, there are specific problem prevention methods that correspond with each problem type.

Knowing this helps us to quickly decide how to properly utilize our time and efforts, understanding which problem prevention method is the best for our unique situation, or quickly identify a problem when it occurs.

We will understand how to solve problems while maintaining relationships, instead of compromising relationships to solve problems.
